Just a quick post today...
We got our carpet! It looks great! Too bad we had to deal with so much just to get it.
Alexa had her first play in the snow. I didn't have boots for her, so I took little baggies and put them on her feet and then put her shoes on. We only stayed out for about 10 minutes, but she loved it!
Things are crazy getting ready for the Sectional swim meet. It will all be over on the 11th...then things will be pretty laid back. Maybe I'll even get more time to work out and get in shape for this summer!
Have a great week!

No Carpet yet...
The installer called on Sunday and he was already iced in his driveway so we rescheduled for Thursday! I just want my carpet!!! Hopefully nothing will happen before Thursday.
Saturday and Sunday Kyle went out for a ride in the extremely cold temperatures! Alexa and I opted to stay in and enjoy the warmth of the house. Hopefully it won't be as cold for the BRR ride that I am signed up for on Feb. 3rd. If it is you can put me in the same crazy category! Kyle can't ride this year as he has to work, so I am going to hitch a ride to Perry with Julie Goodman and we are going to brave it together! I better get a few spin classes in before then!
Swim season is starting to wind down. We are hosting our last dual meet this weekend and then will host the BIG sectional meet on Sunday Feb. 11th. The Sectional meet is really fun. We host 8 other teams and it is usually around 300 swimmers. It is definitely an all day affair. We start with set-up at 8:00am and the meet doesn't get done until around 5:00pm! Makes for some good pay! The meet is for the swimmers to qualify for state. Our goal is to get 95% qualified this year. They have been swimming good and dropping times all season, so it looks like we might get it accomplished.
Have a great week!

Now it's cold...
...CRAZY COLD! Below zero temps and lots of snow headed our way! I don't remember this at all last year. Hopefully it will only last a couple of days...cross your fingers.
Anyway, enough about that. Not much going on here except for working and taking care of Alexa!
We get new carpet in the living room on Monday! YEEEHAAWWW.....I'm so excited, our carpet right now is so gross! We were hoping to have it by Christmas, but Lowe's had the wrong phone # for the installer so he obviously couldn't get a hold of us! I had to call Lowe's and ask why the heck we hadn't heard from him! AAUUGHH.....so beware if you use Lowe's! I actually wasn't impressed with the whole experience. Will definitely look into other options when we got to put laminate in the kitchen!
And now...picture time!

a Mt Bike for me???
So we have been searching online for a used Mt Bike...after not much luck, Kyle went down to talk to Irwin's Kyle about some options for me. Looks like Redline might be coming out with a Monocog 1x9. I'll have to see if it happens, but I think it may be a good option for me.
Nothing too expensive for my first couple of years and I hate trying to shift gears so this way it will be less gears to worry about!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
My only "resolution" for this year is to continue to work out and get fit so that I can try a Mountain Bike race or two!
I have set a goal for myself to get more than 500 miles on my bike this year. I know to some that is a very small mileage goal, but for me it is significant as I am very accomodating to Kyle and his training!
I plan to ride to the Y with Alexa as much as possible and find a babysitter for one night a week every week this summer so I can just go out and ride!
